DAILY NEWS

Saturday 01-24

Today started early with breakfast at 5.30 AM and boarding buses at 6. More or less awake, 672 skydivers from around the world made their way to the RTAF Base in Bangkok.

There were six Hercules C-130's, two smaller ones, a turbine DC3 (T67), some Porters, etc., waiting for us there. We all got assigned to an aircraft, and The Mass Freefall Jump was under way!

Weather conditions were a little less than in '99. A little hazy and some turbulence, which resulted in seven incidents, but nothing really serious.

The feeling to be up in the air with that many canopies, and with a crowd that is absolutely loving it, is indescribable.

The Mass Freefall Jump was definitely
a new
World Record !!!!!

The Mass Jump went out to the world media - covered by the main news feeds - Reuters, APTN and AP. The following day BBC presented World Team and the Thai jumpers on World News and calls came in from around the world announcing features on local news stations.

We would much appreciate any and all feedback from friends and family back home - let us know if you have seen World Team on local news! We'd love to know.
