These
experts in the fields of big-way and competition skydiving are
serving on the Dive Review Team due
to their expertise in reading freefall video, and in identifying
the cause(s) of difficulties that occur during a dive, or a
series of dives.
The
Dive Review Team will start their task by scrutinizing videos
from the 357-way built by World Team ’04 – to
identify trends that affected the building of that world record
formation. This information will be used to quickly identify any
similar trends that may develop during in the early stages of the
dives in 2006. In addition to monitoring individual performances,
the Dive Review Team will be looking for big-picture scenarios
as well – including
the overall symmetry of the formation, build time of specific sectors,
how well skydivers follow designated radials into the formation,
how well the Break-off Plan is followed, etc.
Thanks
to the technology available for World Team ’06,
the Dive Review Team will be able to monitor freefall speeds
throughout
each dive, to see how this may affect the overall team performance.
Large photographs taken during each dive will also be studied
by the Dive Review Team to provide additional data throughout
the
event.
Information
gathered and conclusions made by the Dive Review Team will be
shared with the Dive Director, Sector Captains, and
team members, so that constructive modifications can be made that
will help World Team ’06 set a new world
record. |
